Information:

This is a small updated version I have released along with the help  and contribution of Diablo SV’s new police siren you will find in the ‘Police Wail 2 folder’. Also this update includes an additional ambulance siren which is located in the ‘Ambulance wail 3’ folder. Please read the following instructions carefully. Use the provided GTA3 Audio Editor in this package to edit the audio archive.

Installation:

Police Wail 1:

Located in the Police Wail 1 folder you will find two files:

sfx00027.wav & sfx00028.wav

These sound files are recordings of actual police sirens which I found on the Internet.

1.    Using GTA3 Audio Editor (in the gta3 audio folder) – also if you are using it for the first time please read its documentation - open up sfx.sdt in your vice city’s Audio folder.

2.    Find sfx00027 and sfx00028 (you may turn off auto rebuild if you want) now replace each one-by-one by the new sxf00027.wav and sfx00028.wav by clicking on the replace button (top right) and locating the new files.

3.    Change the Unknown 2 value of sfx00027:

FROM the original 91334

TO the new value of 140540

4.    Now change the Unknown 2 value of sfx00028:

FROM the original (dunno I forgot to note it down.. :P)

TO the new value of 6704

5.     Rebuild the archive and you’re done!

Police Wail 2:

Located in the ‘Police wail 2’ folder you will find sfx00027.wav & sfx00028.wav. This siren is contributed by Diablo SV. The same procedure of finding and replacing both files in sfx.sdt applies to this however you have to change the unknown values as follows:

FOR sfx00027, change the Unknown 2 value TO: 115386

FOR sfx00028, change the Unknown 2 value TO: 7050

That’s it now rebuild and play!

Classic HP2 police siren:

Located in the ‘Classic HP2 police siren’ folder you will find sfx00027.wav & sfx00028.wav. These files are the original ones I released with my first mod. They are simply sampled from NFS: HP2 and then cut down to a perfect loop. I decided to include this as a third siren if you don’t like the first two. The same procedure of finding and replacing both files in sfx.sdt applies to this however you have to change the unknown values as follows:

FOR sfx00027, change the Unknown 2 value TO: 100000

FOR sfx00028, change the Unknown 2 value TO: 7224

That’s it now rebuild and play!

Ambulance Wail 1 (Recommended):

Located in the ‘Ambulance Wail 1’ folder you will find the file sfx00029.wav. This sound was taken from the same website and was then given a higher pitch and volume level.

1.    Find and replace sfx00029 in sfx.sdt using gta3 audio editor. Now change the Unknown 2 value of sfx00029 to 21238.

2.   Rebuild and you’re done!!

Ambulance Wail 2 (Optional):

Located in the ‘Ambulance Wail 2’ folder you will find the file sfx00029.wav. This sound was taken from the same website and is much like the secondary ambulance siren but I chose it as it only sounded perfect when it came from an ambulance.

1.    Find and replace sfx00029 in sfx.sdt using gta3 audio editor. Now change the Unknown 2 value of sfx00029 to 11928.

2.   Rebuild and you’re done!!

Ambulance Wail 3 (Optional):

Located in the ‘Ambulance Wail 3’ folder you will find the file sfx00029.wav. This sound was taken from the same website and was then given a higher pitch and volume level. Also it is longer in duration than the first one.

3.    Find and replace sfx00029 in sfx.sdt using gta3 audio editor. Now change the Unknown 2 value of sfx00029 to 245554.

Rebuild and you’re done!!

Tyre screech sound:

Located in the ‘Tyre screech’ folder you will find the file sfx00025.wav. This sound was taken is the original one from vice city but now it has a higher volume level and pitch.

1.    Find and replace sfx00025 in sfx.sdt using gta3 audio editor. No need to change the unknown values.

2.   Rebuild and you’re done!!
